Discover Africa Your Way.
Hunting and fishing are the reason many guests come. These are the days around them.

Photographic safaris and game drives in the animals’ natural environment, run on their own or alongside a hunt for anyone in the group who is not hunting.

Tailor-made photographic and video holiday packages, designed around the wildlife, landscapes and experiences you want to capture.

Humpback whales pass Nosy Be in August and September, and whale sharks in October and November. On the South African coast, southern right whales calve from around June to November.

Tours throughout the Eastern Cape and the Garden Route, and time in the winelands, give everyone in the party something of their own.
Fly into Nosy Be, never Antananarivo on the mainland. Nine routes from Europe, the Americas and Johannesburg, the airlines to use, and the €35 visa on arrival.
Flight Routes & MapFly into Johannesburg or Cape Town, then connect to the airport nearest your hunting area. Seasons, what to pack and how the hunting season runs from mid-February to mid-July.

Alongside our hunting safaris and fishing adventures, we offer a wide range of experiences across South Africa and Madagascar — game drives, coast, culture and everything in between.

Ten pages on everything alongside the hunting and the fishing — game drives, coast, culture and the days in between.

For guests who want to capture Africa rather than hunt it, we arrange photographic safaris across the Eastern Cape’s private reserves.
The same reading of terrain and animal behaviour that guides a hunt is what gets a camera close enough to matter.
2On the Madagascar side of a trip, hawksbill and green turtles feed over the reef within a short boat ride of the island.
You need no diving experience to see them — a mask and a set of fins is enough.

5
A round of golf on the Eastern Cape coast, a scenic helicopter flight over the bushveld, or a slow afternoon and an early dinner.
The time between the headline activities matters just as much.
6
7
Good food, a drink poured at the end of a long day, and the whole group in one place.
It is the part of a trip nobody plans for and everybody remembers.

Photographic game drives run on the same clock as everything else in the bush: out before first light, back through the heat, out again as it cools.
Lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino are the headline five, but the drives that stay with people are usually the small things — a bird, a stand-off at a waterhole, the noise after dark.

Cats are worth waiting for rather than ticking off. A sighting that looks like nothing — a cheetah lying flat in the grass — can turn into the best hour of a trip if you stay with it.
Our guides would far rather sit with one animal properly than drive you past six. See our lion page for how a pride actually works.

Southern right whales come into South African bays to calve between roughly June and November, and they come close — in places you can watch them from the cliffs without a boat at all.
Humpbacks pass on migration in the same window, which pairs neatly with a winter safari.

The Garden Route runs the southern coast from the Eastern Cape through Knysna and the Tsitsikamma forests, and it is the natural second half of an Eastern Cape trip.
Forest, gorges, empty beaches and small coastal towns — and enough driving to make it a proper leg of the journey rather than a day out. See our travel tips for timing it.

The Cape winelands sit an hour from Cape Town, and the estates around Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl are some of the oldest in the country.
For a lot of guests this is the decompression at the end — a few slow days after two weeks of early starts.

South Africa has eleven official languages and a genuinely layered culture, and the trips people remember tend to include some of it rather than only the wildlife.
First-time hunters are given a fun traditional African initiation. Once the ceremony is done, a cultural group entertains with traditional song and dance, and often invites guests to join in. Village visits, markets and local food can be arranged on request as well.

Two countries, one itinerary. Between South Africa’s bushveld and Madagascar’s reefs, we’ve built a list of experiences that goes well beyond a rifle or a rod — culture, coastline, wildlife and water, all arranged around whatever brought you to Africa in the first place.
Nothing here is fixed. Every one of these can be woven into an existing hunting or fishing itinerary, or built into a holiday of its own — whichever suits the group you’re travelling with, and however many of them you want to fit into a single trip.
Some guests come for one thing and leave having done five. That’s usually the point.
If Madagascar is part of your trip, these are the days out guests ask us for most. Fifteen excursions in all, from reef snorkelling to a night out in Ambatoloaka.
For photographers and filmmakers, we can put together tailor-made photographic and video holiday packages, designed around your interests and the wildlife, landscapes and experiences you want to capture. On Nosy Be you can also add our holiday video and photograph package to your excursions.
Whether you are an experienced or inexperienced hunter (we can guide you), a passionate angler, a wildlife photographer, an adventurous traveller, a couple, a family or a group of friends, we can create an itinerary designed specifically for you.
There is no one-size-fits-all adventure. We believe the best journeys are built around the people experiencing them.
Nothing here is a fixed package. Hunt for part of the trip and dive the rest of it; bring people who want completely different days and we will run both.
Tell us who is coming and what they each want out of it.
Bring people who want completely different days and we will run both halves of the trip.
Rough dates and who is coming is enough to start. No lengthy booking form, no card details.
If the days you have will not cover it, we say so up front and adjust rather than take the booking and disappoint you.
Nothing sold off a shelf. Priced against your dates, group and interests — in USD, Euro or ZAR.
Land-based four to sixteen, live-aboard six to eight, big-game fishing four to five. Never a crowd.
